Situational Analysis
To identify what makes your health care product or service unique, a situational analysis has been conducted. The situational analysis portion of this project will focus on the internal and external environment in which the marketing plan is to be implemented.

The situational analysis will include three specific areas:​
- SWOT, a four-cell chart containing internal and external factors of the chosen healthcare organization
- Environmental forces, research into university health centers as well as health services or programming for university students.
- Competitive analysis, an analysis of weaknesses and strengths of the competitors to the selected organization

Students in this course use real university health organizations to create an informed marketing plan over the duration of a semester

Technological Forces
The technological landscape plays a crucial role in shaping the success of the Smart Study Time Watch. As Berkowitz (2021) notes, "technological factors affect industries more dramatically than they do health care" (p. 28). With the increasing use of wearable devices for health and productivity, the Smart Study Time Watch aligns well with students' growing reliance on tech for academic management. Additionally, as Garcia and Hoelscher (2021) point out, "students who use time management tools effectively report significantly higher academic performance than those who rely solely on self-regulation" (p. 703). This highlights the importance of having specialized tools to enhance student performance, which is where the Smart Study Time Watch can provide a unique solution.

Social Forces
In today's academic world, students are more focused than ever on managing stress, boosting productivity, and staying mindful of their mental health. Social factors, especially the emphasis on mental wellness, are crucial for university students. As Wilson (2022) points out, "poor time management contributes significantly to student stress and anxiety" (p. 132), making tools like the Smart Study Time Watch essential. By helping students maintain a balanced academic routine, the watch responds to the growing need for stress management solutions. Furthermore, trends in mental wellness and time efficiency heavily influence consumer preferences (University of Minnesota, n.d.). By reducing stress and enhancing academic success, the Smart Study Time Watch can meet the rising demand for tools that promote well-being and productivity.
